Centro de los Amigos para la Paz (CAP) is a place where people and organizations meet and work for a better society. We actively assist progressive organizations in Costa Rica and Central America to network and build their capacity to advocate and organize for the common good of their communities and greater society.

CAP reflects its Quaker roots by striving to live the Quaker testimony to equality, justice, peace, simplicity and truth as a challenge to alleviate suffering and seek positive social change. We promote human rights and peace through the practices of active nonviolence and peace education. We promote national and international relations related to peace and human solidarity.

Casa Ridgway, our hostel, a project supporting CAP - is quiet, clean and affordable, conveniently located in downtown San José, Costa Rica.

We feature free breakfast, a kitchen, library, free WIFI (in common areas) and environmentally friendly practices.

All profits from the hostel go to support the work of the CAP.
